Privacy Policy
Last updated 17 October 2026
This policy explains what information Scamp! (“Scamp!”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use the Scamp! Discord bot or the website at scamp.wtf, why, how long it is kept, and how to have it removed.
In short: Scamp! only keeps what a server’s features need in order to work, it never sells or shares your information for advertising, and when Scamp! is removed from a server, that server’s data is deleted within 30 days.
Who decides what is collected
Scamp! is added to a Discord server by that server’s staff, who choose which features to switch on. Most of what Scamp! records exists because a server turned a feature on — for example, a ticket conversation is only stored in a server that uses tickets. If you have a question about why something is recorded in a particular server, that server’s staff are usually the best people to ask first.
What we collect
About everyone Scamp! interacts with
Your Discord user ID, username and display name, alongside anything recorded below, so that records can show who they are about. Scamp! also sees your roles in servers it is in, which it uses to decide what you may do, but does not store them.
Depending on which features a server uses
- Tickets — the messages sent in a ticket, including attachments (copies are stored so the transcript keeps working after Discord’s own links expire), stickers and GIFs, plus any form answers given when opening the ticket.
- Applications — your answers (including unsent answers saved as you type on the website), messages between you and the server’s staff about your application, and the decision.
- Moderation — cases staff record against members (the action, the reason, who took it and when) and any appeal you submit.
- Auto-Mod — Scamp! reads messages to check them against the server’s rules. It does not store the messages it checks; it records a short-lived “strike” (who, which rule, when) when one breaks a rule.
- Logging — if a server turns logging on, Scamp! posts records of events such as edited or deleted messages, members joining or leaving, role changes and voice channel activity into a channel in that server. Those posts are ordinary Discord messages controlled by the server; Scamp! does not keep its own copy.
- Suggestions — suggestions you post and who voted on them.
- Polls — your vote. Votes are anonymous unless the poll itself says, before you vote, that staff can see who voted.
- Giveaways — that you entered, and whether you won and claimed it.
- Incident Reports — reports written by a server’s staff, which can name the members involved, including any character names (aliases), and evidence.
- Temporary Roles — which role you were given, by whom, and when it ends.
- Kudos — kudos you gave and received: who it was from and to (a name the giver typed in, if they could not find the person in Discord), what was written, when, and who added a +1 to it.
- Streaming — whether a member in a monitored role is live on Twitch, including the stream’s title, category and preview image, read from your Discord status. If you link a Kick account, your Kick username. Live-stream records are deleted when the stream ends.
- Welcome, Role Reactions and Announcements — the server’s own settings and messages. Scamp! does not keep a record about you for these.
When you sign in to the website
Signing in uses Discord. With your permission, Discord tells us your user ID, username and avatar, the list of servers you are in, and your roles in servers that have Scamp!. We use these only to show you the servers you can manage and the pages you are allowed to see. They are held in a sign-in cookie that expires after 24 hours; we do not store them in our database.
If you support Scamp! on Patreon
When you connect Patreon on our Premium page, Patreon tells us your Patreon user ID and whether you currently pay for Scamp!. We store that ID, the Discord account that connected it, the server you chose, when your pledge started and ended, and whether Patreon last reported it as paid. We never see your card or payment details — Patreon handles payment, under its own privacy policy — and the permission Patreon gives us to read your membership is used once, when you connect, and not kept. After that, Patreon tells us directly when your membership changes.
Server settings
Everything a server’s staff configure — channels, roles, messages, templates and so on — is stored so the features work.
Error reports
When something goes wrong, Scamp! sends a report to a private channel only we can see, so it can be fixed. A report may include the server’s name, the Discord username of the person who hit the problem, and what they were doing. Passwords, tokens and similar secrets are removed from reports automatically.
Cookies and browser storage
The website uses only what it needs to work. There are no advertising or tracking cookies and no analytics.
- Sign-in cookies — keep you signed in for up to 24 hours and protect the sign-in process.
- Browser storage — remembers your light or dark theme choice and your recently used emoji. This stays on your device.
Why we use it
We use this information to provide the features a server has switched on, to keep those features secure and working, and to fix problems. Under UK data protection law, our basis for this is our legitimate interest in providing Scamp! to the servers that use it, and, for the website sign-in, providing the service you have asked to use. We do not use your information for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train AI models.
Who can see it
- The server’s staff, according to the access that server’s admins have set up. For example, ticket transcripts are visible to that server’s ticket staff and to the person who opened the ticket.
- The people who run Scamp!, only where needed to keep it running, fix a problem, or act on a request.
- The services Scamp! runs on, which process data on our behalf: Discord (where everything happens, and where error reports are sent), Railway (which hosts the bot), and a privately operated server that hosts the website and database. Scamp! also asks Kick whether linked Kick accounts are live, and fetches stream preview images from Twitch.
Some of these services are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where data is transferred abroad, we rely on those providers’ standard data protection terms.
We will only share information otherwise if the law requires us to.
How long it is kept
- While Scamp! is in a server, its records are kept until that server’s staff delete them, or until you ask us to (see below).
- When Scamp! is removed from a server, all of that server’s data is deleted automatically 30 days later. If Scamp! is added back before then, nothing is lost. The one exception is a record of the server’s premium (which tier, until when, and why it was given), which is kept so a promise like free premium for life is still kept if Scamp! comes back. It holds the server’s ID and nothing about its members, and its owner can ask us to delete it. A Patreon pledge’s record is kept for the same reason, since it is how that server’s premium is ended when the payments stop; you can ask us to delete it once your pledge has ended.
- Auto-Mod strikes are deleted after 30 days.
- Live-stream records are deleted when the stream ends.
- Error reports stay in our private channel until we delete them, and are only used to fix problems.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You can also object to how we use it or ask us to limit it. To do any of these, contact us through the Scamp! support server. We may need to confirm that the Discord account is yours, and we will reply within one month.
Some records belong to a server’s own moderation history — for example, a ban or an incident report. We will consider every request, but may keep such a record where the server has a genuine need for it, and we will tell you if so. You can also ask that server’s staff directly.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put it right first.
These rights apply wherever you live. If you are in the EU or EEA, you can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.
Server owners
A server’s owner or admins can ask for all of their server’s data to be deleted at any time through the Scamp! support server, without removing Scamp!. Removing Scamp! from the server deletes it automatically after 30 days.
Children
Scamp! is for people old enough to use Discord, which requires users to be at least 13 (or older where local law says so). We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
Keeping it safe
Access to the database and the website’s admin areas is restricted, connections to the website are encrypted, and each server’s staff only see their own server’s data.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also announce it in the Scamp! support server.
